Wexford champions St Martins will travel to Kilkenny tomorrow to face a star-studded Ballyhale Shamrocks side.
Ballyhale Shamrocks, managed by Henry Shellin, are the reigning Leinster and All-Ireland Club champions boast players of the calibre of TJ Reid, Colin Fennelly, Evan Shefflin and 2019 young hurler of the year, Adrian Mullen.
Members of the St Martins panel need no introduction either though; Jack O’Connor, Joe Coleman, Joe O’Connor will all feauture – and most notably – Rory O’Connor will return to the match-day fifteen after missing out on the Wexford Senior Hurling final.
Ballyhale come up against a St Martins side, who enter the game as underdogs.
Across major Irish bookmakers, the Wexford champions are priced at 7/1 outsiders, with Ballyhale Shamrocks priced as heavy 1/8 favourites.
The bookmakers’ odds would suggest an easy Ballyhale victory, but as Wexford star Rory O’Connor said in a recent interview, “it’s Winter hurling” and anything could happen.
