Sadness Around Wexford As Man Who Had Contracted Coronavirus Passes Away

There’s a lot of sadness over Riverchapel and Wexford this evening..

Richard Brady, aged 66, who had contracted the coronavirus, was a patient in the Intensive Card Unit of Wexford General Hospital since April 6th.

It has now emerged that Riverchapel native Richard has passed away.

His heartbroken daughter, Caroline, stated that he had defeated the virus, but he sadly lost his life due to pneumonia:

“It’s with heavy heart I’m writing this, my hero, my dad took his last breath at 4.30 today after a month of battling with Covid19. He bet the virus but the pneumonia took him in the end. Forever my friend, forever my dad, forever my hero. I’ll love you until the end of time.”

Richard was a popular figure throughout Riverchapel, Gorey, and Wexford and his loss will impact a lot of people.

Amidst the pandemic, the public are urged to continue social distancing and to adhere to the Government’s guidelines.
