Wexford Public Angry After Illegal Dumping From Bank Holiday Weekend

Some members of the Wexford public have expressed their anger…

A number of people from Enniscorthy have expressed their anger and concern relating to the state in which some other members of the public left the local area following the June Bank Holiday weekend.

One particular case occurred between the bridge on the Waterfront side in Enniscorthy, Wexford.

With the sunshine and warm weather, more people are gathering in groups, are out socialising, and are having picnics.

While the majority of people will bring their rubbish home, some members feel the need to leave their rubbish there and not clean up.

The public must remember that this is an illegal offence under the Litter Pollution Act (1997). On the spot fines of €150 can be given, while additional penalties and court appearances can also occur.

Those also considering this must also remember that this is our community and it’s up to us to keep it clean.

It really is as simple as that. When this happens, it’s an eye-sore on the community, while other members of the local community are forced to clean up the rubbish left behind.

Just bring it home.
