TEDx Will Return To Wexford This August

TEDxWexford returns to the National Opera House under the theme ‘Turn the Tide’…

Now in its 3rd year running, this event brings inspirational and thought-provoking speakers discussing topics from mental health, to climate change, gender bias and parenting.

At one of the previous TEDx events which took place in Wexford in 2016, former Wexford hurler Diarmuid ‘Gizzy’ Lyng spoke:

As we resist, shape, and embrace change, in our environment, society, economy and culture it’s exciting to reflect upon the new directions and transitions ahead. Differences, decisions, opportunities and challenges will abound. How will science, politics, media, commerce, sports, education, agriculture or the arts respond and evolve?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWexford, where x = independently organised TED event.

At our TEDxWexford event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are organised.

Tickets for the event cost 35 euro. The speakers for this year’s event have not yet been confirmed, however, for more information about speakers visit www.tedxwexford.ie or stay up to date on their social media accounts.
