There will be a distinctive member in attendance at the next few Wexford FC matches….

Wexford FC are set to introduce ‘Teddy’, a therapy dog, for their upcoming home matches at Ferrycarrig Park in the League of Ireland.

In celebration of World Autism Month, Wexford FC will announces the arrival of our newest team member, Teddy, their therapy labradoodle, at their next game which takes place at home to Kerry FC, tomorrow, Friday.

As per the match programme, Teddy’s mission is to bring joy, comfort, and support to players, fans, and the wider Wexford community during match days and special events.

Teddy’s gentle demeanour and affectionate nature helps to create a calming atmosphere. Her presence can alleviate stress and anxiety for both players and fans, according to the match programme.

Studies have shown that therapy animals can reduce blood pressure, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being.

Teddy’s presence will be the first of its kind at a League of Ireland game.
