The Wexford Senior hurlers lost out heavily to Cork last weekend at Wexford Park…
Although Wexford were without key members of their squad, it was a disappointing show from Wexford in their opening game against last year’s All-Ireland finalists.
Keith Rossiter and his management team will be hoping that the Wexford Senior hurlers will be able to respond in Round 2 of the National Hurling League when they take on Tipperary.
Here, we look at all you need to know ahead of this weekend’s clash.
When?
Sunday, Feb 2nd
What time?
Throw-in is at 3:45pm.
Where?
It’s an away clash for Wexford. It will take place in Semple Stadium.
What’s the Wexford team?

Where can I purchase tickets?
Those interested in attending the match can purchase tickets online. Tickets are now available via https://am.ticketmaster.com/gaa/ Please note that in line with central GAA ticketing policy, tickets are required for U16s. Adult tickets cost €20.
Is it being streamed, or is it on television?
Unfortunately, unless you attend the match in person, you will not be watching this game live. It will not be broadcast on television, nor is there an option to stream the Wexford versus Tipperary game on GAAGo. Thankfully, the week after, Wexford’s home clash against Kilkenny will be broadcast live on RTE.
Betting odds:
After last weekend’s loss to Cork, Wexford are unsurprisingly going into this clash as underdogs once again. The bookies, including BoyleSports, are not giving Wexford a chance in this game. They have Tipperary as 1/10 favourites, the draw is 14/1, while Wexford are priced at 6/1. For context, Wexford were priced at 9/2 against Cork last weekend.
How are Wexford ahead of the clash?
It’s not good news for Keith Rossiter and the Wexford Senior hurling team. Already facing an uphill battle against last year’s All-Ireland finalists, Rossiter has been dealt some major blows who are ruled out of the Cork clash. They include Conor McDonald, Lee Chin, Liam Ryan, Damien Reck, and also the trio of Matt O’Hanlon, Dee O’Keeffe, and Liam OgMcGovern that retired ahead of the season. It is believed that Shane Reck and Jack O’Connor will be back in contention for their next clash against Tipperary, but the game might come too soon for them too. Along with that, as it stands, Wexford will be without key attacker Rory O’Connor, who received a straight red against Cork. Wexford are set to appeal Rory’s red card, but as it stands, he will not feature.
Who else will Wexford play in the League campaign?
Wexford have been placed into Roinn A of the Allianz Hurling League for 2025. They will also take on Kilkenny, Clare, Galway, and Limerick which will no doubt be tricky encounters for the Yellowbellies who are plagued by injuries. You can view the full list of fixtures, with dates and times, here.
