There’s no smoke without fire…
That’s certainly the case for Republic of Ireland international and Wexford man, Festy Ebosele. Festy played his underage football with Moyne Rangers in Enniscorthy before moving across the pond to play under Wayne Rooney at Derby County, which was followed by a move to Udinese who play in the Serie A of the Italian league.
Wexford’s Ebosele was in the news yesterday after it was revealed that his parent club, Udinese, had cut his loan spell with Watford FC short.
It was reported that there was interest coming from clubs in Turkey.
Festy has since confirmed that he has joined the Istanbul side Basaksehir, however, this time it is a permanent move for the Enniscorthy native. He will join the club on a 3.5 year deal. It also means he will become the first-ever Irish man to play in the Turkish league.

It was also reported that the clubs, Udinese and Basaksehir, had reached an agreement – but Udinese left the option open for Festy to decide whether he would move or not.
It may be a while yet though until we see Festy line out for the Turkish club, having picked up an injury in a recent clash for Watford FC in the English Championship.
