Rising Irish Trad collective continue their busy year with two festival slots..
SinSaol, the 11-piece trad and folk band from Gorey, Co. Wexford, are set to perform at Electric Picnic 2025, appearing on the Stradbally Inn Stage at 1:30pm on Saturday and the Spike Island Stage at 5pm on Sunday.
The group, who blend lively jigs and reels with American folk and country influences, have quickly earned a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting new acts in the revival of traditional music.
With headline appearances at Whelan’s Trad & Folk Festival (two years running) and a standout performance at the Wexford Fleadh, SinSaol’s rise has been marked by packed venues and growing national attention.

The 11 members bring a huge range of sounds — from flute, whistles, bodhrán, banjo, mandolin, Venezuelan cuatro, bouzouki, and double bass — creating a rich, high-energy take on Irish music. Their story even caught international attention, when they featured in French News and The Sunday Times for lifting Irish spirits on the streets of Nantes during the Rugby World Cup.
“We’ve had an incredible year playing for audiences across Ireland, and to now bring our music to Electric Picnic is very exciting,” said SinSaol drummer and whistle player, David Spencer. “High Energy Irish traditional music is thriving again, and we’re proud to be part of that movement.”
Beyond Electric Picnic, SinSaol will continue a packed schedule of gigs and will be closing out a busy year with their annual Christmas gig in Wexford’s Orphan Girl Bar later this year.
