Wexford travelled to Tullamore to take on Offaly on Saturday evening…
Offaly emerged victorious on the day, winning on a score-line of 2-21 to 2-15. Offaly’s win means that Wexford’s Leinster Championship hopes and their hopes of progressing into the All-Ireland series are now gone.
Despite that, Wexford still have one game remaining in the Leinster SHC round-robin series. They will take on a Galway side who will need a win against the Model County as the Tribesmen seek qualification to the Leinster final.
A highlights package, now since published by RTÉ on YouTube, has been made available.
It does bode a simple question though and it’s one that has annoyed GAA fans not only in Ireland but across the globe: if there are cameras at the game, why can’t it be streamed?
In 2026, it’s disappointing for fans that we can’t watch these games on a live-stream. Any game — whereby cameras are already at the game — should be made available to watch via a live-stream. The cameras at the game were there to create a package for RTE’s The Saturday Game, however, despite the GAA’s buyout of GAA+, they need to work together for the people that make the GAA what it is.
When committees and organisations have been set up to rescue hurling and to promote hurling, it simply doesn’t make sense anymore that these Leinster Senior hurling championship games cannot be watched live with the click of a button.
