Wexford roots inspire rising pop artist Chelle

Emerging Irish singer-songwriter, Chelle is continuing her rise on the international music scene with the release of her latest single, Trouble, a powerful new track that marks a bold step forward in her distinctive “noir-pop” sound…

Following the success of previous releases Ain’t Lovin’ You and debut single Kiss Me Again, Chelle has been gaining recognition both in Ireland and abroad. Music publication EARMILK recently described her as an “international rising star,” while Illustrate Magazine praised her music as having “the sort of authority that could make her an international pop rising star.”

With support from BBC Introducing and a recent radio debut on Dublin City FM, Chelle is steadily building a reputation as one of Ireland’s emerging talents to watch.

Although now based in County Kildare, Chelle remains deeply connected to her County Wexford roots:

“While I am now based in Kildare, my heart and family history remain firmly in County Wexford. My mother is from Tomsallagh, and I have deep, lifelong roots connecting me to Ferns and Enniscorthy,” she told Wexford Weekly.

Those connections continue to influence her work and identity as an artist. Speaking about her latest release, Chelle explained that Trouble explores themes of self-determination and reclaiming personal narratives.

Trouble is a reflection of the fire and the friction involved in taking control of your own narrative,” she said. “I’ve spent years honing my craft in bars, clubs, and hotels across Ireland, and I’m ready to take this intensity to a global audience. My Wexford roots have always been a part of my identity as an artist, and I’m so proud to share this new chapter with the people of my home county,” she told Wexford Weekly.

Currently collaborating with producer Declan Lonergan at Bluebird Studios, Chelle is developing a sound that balances cinematic scope with emotional intimacy. As her profile continues to grow internationally, she remains proud of the county that helped shape her journey.

Listeners can hear Trouble and Chelle’s previous releases on Spotify.
