Wexford business trio to join forces under one roof

Three independent Wexford beauty and wellness business owners have joined forces…

A Wexford business trio have joined forces to create a new shared space in the heart of Wexford town, offering clients a diverse range of treatments under one roof.

The trio have taken over the lease at 10A Redmond Square, formerly occupied by Skin Essentials by Mariga, and have rebranded the premises as Ink & Glow Studios.

The businesses operating from Ink & Glow Studios are GK Beauty Room, owned by Georgina Korzeniak; Leah Cheung PMU, owned by Leah Cheung; and Glow, Root & Ritual | Holistic Facials, owned by Anna Hennessy.

While each business will continue to operate independently, the new studio will provide a collaborative space that brings together permanent make-up, aesthetics, holistic skincare and tattoo services in one central location.

GK Beauty Room specialises in permanent make-up, lip blush, lip enhancement, mesotherapy, PDO threads and laser treatments. Leah Cheung PMU offers permanent make-up, fine line tattoos, eyebrow threading and laser tattoo removal, while Glow, Root & Ritual focuses on natural facelifting and crystal healing facial treatments using Irish organic skincare products.

The three business owners have spent the past week transforming the Redmond Square premises ahead of their official launch.

Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Anna Hennessy said that the decision to collaborate was driven in part by the increasing costs facing small businesses, but also by the opportunity to create a stronger offering for clients.

“One of the big reasons for the collaboration was that rising costs are making it difficult to maintain a business by yourself, so collaborating with other trustworthy individuals has really been a game changer. It has allowed each of us to grow our businesses while maintaining some form of work-life balance that we can enjoy too,” she said.

“It also allows clients to seek out multiple options of services under one roof, which is beneficial for both the client and ourselves as we continue to grow together and individually.”

Although operating under the shared Ink & Glow Studios name, each practitioner will continue to run their own business independently.

“We still plan to work individually, but having the umbrella name and location for us will be amazing as we continue to think of ways to grow together and maybe one day be able to provide something fun for our clients together where it can be community based,” Anna told Wexford Weekly.

The opening comes at a time when a number of independent businesses in Wexford have closed amid rising operating costs, something Anna said has been difficult to witness.

“It’s incredibly frustrating and sad to see so many beautiful family-owned businesses closing due to the rising costs and stress of keeping up with all of the costs too, so hopefully there will be some change in the future where there is incentive for businesses to open again,” she said.

“For now, our social media and word of mouth is still as powerful as ever for us as individual businesses. I do believe there are a lot more people trying to support local to hopefully make a change to the devastating closures. Thankfully our clients are very loyal and, again, word of mouth is forever the most powerful way.”

The team will officially introduce the new studio to the public during an open evening on Thursday, August 20, when visitors will have the opportunity to view the newly renovated premises and meet the business owners.

Further details will be announced through Ink & Glow Studios Instagram page in the coming weeks.
