Man (20s) Arrested Following Enniscorthy Dog Attack

One of the major news stories of the week was that a young boy was attacked by a dog…

The dog left the young boy with harrowing and serious facial injuries.

Alejandro Mizsan, aged 9, was playing on a green area of the Old Forge Road estate in Enniscorthy, Wexford, on Sunday when he was attacked by the dog at around 4pm.

He was airlifted to Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital in Dublin following the incident.

Horrific mages of the boy’s face has circulated on some news sites. Although the family are trying to highlight the dangers of dog attacks, we believe that the images are too graphic to share here.

Speaking on the incident to Virgin Media News, his brother stated that:

“He doesn’t have any lip. He can’t talk. He only has half of his face. He will be destroyed for life. When he sees his face, it’s going to destroy him.”

The vicious dog has since been put down.

A man has since been arrested (20s) and is being detained in Enniscorthy Garda station. The man was arrested on Tuesday under the provisions of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with the young boy’s treatment. You can donate to the cause here. Over €58,000 has already been donated at the time of writing.
