Wexford’s Dave Guiney Is Still Playing Competitive Club Hurling

In life, we can avoid a lot of things. But, one thing we cannot avoid, is turning old…

One man who refuses to let age get the better of him is Dave Guiney.

Guiney, a Rathnure clubman who turns 50 in five months time, is still playing competitive hurling 23 years after Wexford’s famous All-Ireland title win.

Guiney played corner-back in the Wexford Junior B Hurling Championship final against St Annes, a game which was tied 3-12 to 1-18 at full-time. Guiney, along with his team-mates and opponents, will fight it out again next weekend in the replay.
