A disgusting incident occurred in Wexford last week..
The owners and staff based in a Wexford restaurant/cafe, which asked not to be named, couldn’t believe what happened after a man spat in a plate of food which was being carried to a nearby table by a waitress.
A shocked waitress noticed the man’s actions and immediately brought the food back in to dispose of it.
Wexford Weekly can confirm that the incident occurred in a popular cafe in the heart of Gorey town in North Wexford.
The incident was caught on CCTV. A video of the incident was posted onto social media, but it has since been deleted.
The cafe/restaurant thanked the public for their help, and the matter has now been passed on to the local Gardai to deal with.
The Gardai are currently investigating the matter, but no arrests have yet to be made:
“Gardaí are investigating reports of an incident of spitting that is reported to have occurred outside a premises in Wexford on 30/06/2020 at approximately 1:40pm,” a Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live.
An act like this is despicable, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, when people are encouraged to practice safe hygiene, it’s even worse.
