Another Wexford School Confirms Positive Covid-19 Case

Another school in County Wexford confirmed a positive Covid-19 case today…

Today , a letter was issued to parents of first-year students attending FCJ Bunclody in County Wexford.

“A confirmed case of Covid-19 in your child’s school has been notified to the Department of Health HSE South East,” the letter to parents reads.

The parents of children who were considered close contacts have been contacted. These will need to obtain a Covid-19 test and restrict their movements until they receive their result.

As per the HSE’s advice, children who have not been deemed a ‘close contact’ should attend school as usual.

The news follows after four other schools across county Wexford had recently confirmed Covid-19 cases. Notably, these schools were located in New Ross, Wexford, Enniscorthy, and Gorey, which highlights how Covid-19 is spread across the community.

Again, we must stress the importance not to stigmatise these schools, or businesses, that are operating in such unprecedented times.

We wish a speedy recovery to all.
