Wexford’s 20 Million Tara Studios Plan Put On Hold After Filing Of An Objection

An ambitious €20 million development has been put on hold..

A plan for the top-of-the range film studio in North Wexford has been put on hold.

Tara Studios had planned to develop a film studio at Borleagh Manor in North Wexford, however, an appeal has since been lodged with An Bord Pleanála against the recent decision of Wexford County Council to grant planning permission for the project

The objection is against the scale of the project in a quiet rural area.

The objection also argued that the studio represented an inappropriate and opportunistic endeavour in an area that was not suited to such a project, as per The Irish Film and Television Network.

Both John Gleeson and Ivan Dunleavy are central to the Tara Studio plans.

The outcome of the appeal is expected by June 21, 2021.
