A significant grant has been awarded for a new development in Wexford…

A grant of €228,000 has been awarded for a new development on Monck Street, just across the bridge in Wexford town.

The grant, which has been awarded by Failte Ireland, will be placed towards erecting a retractable roof on Monck Street.

As we reported in November 2020, brothers Anthony and Colm Neville, who are owners of CoAnt Entertainment Ltd and The Crown Bar which is located on Monck Street, have put forward the idea to redevelop the street.

The roof will allow for outdoor dining throughout the year, despite the weather conditions.

The plans were laid out and supported by the Neville brothers and designed by architect Stephen Carr.

The confirmation of the grant was announced today by Minister James Browne.
