Adamstown Crowned All-Ireland Senior Ladies Champions In Rounders

It was a great weekend for Wexford…

The Wexford Junior Camogie team were not the only team to be crowned All-Ireland Champions this weekend.

It was a historic day for all involved with Adamstown GAA Club too after their ladies team were crowned All-Ireland Rounders champions for the first time ever.

The Adamstown Senior Ladies Rounders team were crowned All-Ireland champions after they defeated Glynn-Barntown in an all-Wexford All-Ireland affair on Sunday.

The brilliant Anne Marie Dunphy was awarded with the player of the match award following an excellent performance for the Adamstown side.

It was a repeat of the 2019 final which saw Glynn-Barntown emerge victorious that day.

Rounders is one of the four official GAA sports included in the original GAA charter back in 1884. Rounders is a bat and ball game and is not that dissimilar to baseball.

The fact that the 2021 All-Ireland final was an all-Wexford affair serves to highlight not only the popularity of Rounders in Wexford, but also the talent that is within the county.
