Wexford GAA have recorded a net surplus of €652,119 for the 2022 season…
As per the Financial Report which was issued during the County Convention, Wexford GAA generated an income of €2,953,550 for the 2022 season.
Commercial sponsorship and also fundraising activities through the Model County draw for example brought in the most income, generating €1,126,923.
Following that, it was Gate Receipts that brought in a significant income to Wexford GAA, bringing in €831,157. This was compared with €508,664 from the previous season, however, this GAA season was impacted by Covid-19.
In relation to expenditure, as one could imagine, the biggest spend was on the County Teams. Wexford GAA spent €955,752 on their county teams in 2022. This relates to a €339,135 spend on team administration, €244,420 on Catering, hotels, and overnight costs, and €141,716 for the cost of distributing new gear to panel members.
Wexford GAA also had a significant output of live-streaming in 2022. Their spend of €11,181 in 2021 was more than quadrupled for 2022, as they spent €47,187 on streaming costs. Their idea streaming matches and allowing people to watch games at home after paying a fee was a successful one though, returning €92,034 in income.
The GAA Summer Camps also brought in significant income for Wexford GAA. This brought in €209,778 and compared with €218,768 from the previous year. Expenses incurred for Wexford’s Summer Camps were €121,718 for the 2022 season.
Overall, it was another positive year for Wexford GAA in the financial side of things. They recorded a net surplus of €652,119 which was utilised to invest in the new floodlights at Chadwicks Wexford Park.
Although it is positive, Wexford GAA stated that there will be no complacency in 2023:
“2023 will bring continued financial challenges with the economic impact of inflation and the uncertainty as a result of the war in Ukraine. It is important to note that given the planned investments, we cannot afford to be complacent and must continue to work hard fundraising and managing costs,” a spokesperson for Wexford GAA said.
