Wexford FC Player Drafted In To Republic of Ireland’s U-17 Team For Hungary Clash

A young Wexford FC player has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland team…

After an incredible season with the Ireland U-15 squad, Wexford FC player Kaylem Harnett was named as Ireland’s U-15 Player of the Year for the 2021/22 season.

Coláiste Éamonn Rís student Kaylem made 12 appearances for the Republic of Ireland MU15s during the 2021/22 season.

He made his international debut in a 2-0 win over Montenegro in Podgorica and featured in all but one game for Jason Donohue’s side.

This evening, it has been revealed that Hartnett has been called into the u-17 Republic of Ireland team for their upcoming friendly against Hungary.

Ireland take on Hungary in Pinatar, Spain on Thursday and Saturday as they step-up preparation for their U17 EURO Qualifiers in Cyprus next month

The Wexford FC player’s performances last year must have caught the eye of head coach, Colin O’Brien.
