Rampaging Hadden Helps Ireland Under 20’s Demolish Scotland To Set Up Grand Slam Chance

Gorey RFC youngster George Hadden put in a massively energetic shift for Ireland U-20s on Friday night against their Scotland counterparts in Scotstuan Stadium, Glasgow…

In a magnificent 80-minute performance by Ireland, they obliterated Scotland U-20s on a remarkably impressive scoreline of 82-7.

George started the match well with a decent carry. Again in this match, he was given the responsibility of the line-out call messenger to the hooker, showing the trust he has earned.

Early on, Hadden carried really strongly with a brilliant line in which he took on three players, the third finally getting him to the ground. However, the hole he punched left the Scottish defence in tatters and Ireland soon scored a try.

The Gorey RFC man was at his scrummaging best implying huge pressure on a Scottish scrum. Within minutes he and his front-row colleagues decimated another Scottish scrum and forced a penalty. Ever alert Hadden then recovered a loose ball to set up an Ireland attack. Another scrum for the home team close to Scotland’s line was Absolutely annihilated by Hadden and Co. demolition company!

Hadden’s technique and pressurising style are really to the fore. Later on, Hadden got his hands on the ball again and took off on an excellent Monstrous carry taking on three players in a huge run up the middle.

Back to basics and George was rucking well to create a quick ball for the backs. Hadden then made a nice dart for the line but was repelled in the latest Irish attack. A teammate quickly scored a try in any case. Ireland were up 47 – 0 at halftime, a ridiculously impressive scoreline for an u-20’s six-nations match.

In the second half, he recovered a brilliant line out steal and made a bust up the middle front.

On the 50-minute mark, he was substituted and rested for what will be a titanic battle in Cork, against England, this weekend coming.

Here, the Gorey RFC man will endeavour to win a Grand Slam title with this very talented Irish Under 20’s team. We wish him all the best.
