Revealed: Ireland’s Best Pumpkin Picking Patches of 2023

New research has revealed Ireland’s best pumpkin patches for 2023…

The list, compiled by family meal plan provider, HelloFresh Ireland, ranks each county’s patches by popularity, affordability and customer rating.

One Wexford Pumpkin patch has been named in the top 10, listed by recipe box delivery company, HelloFresh Ireland.

Ireland’s Best Pumpkin Patches 

  1. Nore Valley Park, Kilkenny
  2. Lugg, Dublin
  3. Ballycross Apple Farm, Wexford
  4. Funtasia, Louth
  5. Alright Pumpkin, Meath
  6. Clonfert Pet Farm, Kildare
  7. Galway Pumpkin Patch, Galway
  8. The Farm Grenagh, Cork
  9. Curraghchase Garden Centre, Limerick
  10. Mollie’s Farm Pumpkin Patch, Offaly

Coming out on top was Nore Valley Park in Kilkenny, whose pumpkin patch scored highly across the board. The site has over 36,000 followers on social media with an average family entry cost of €24 and a Google rating of 4.2. The site also offers fun family events such as pumpkin carving, scare mazes and treasure hunts. 

Luggwoods in Dublin was the patch that came second. By far the most popular with a whooping 34,300 searches from September to October, as well as 24,900 followers on social media and a Google rating of 4.3, Luggwoods is Ireland’s most well known patch. which Despite a slightly steeper  admission cost at  €50 per family, visitors can enjoy its Instagrammable backdrops and fun themed trails. 

Ballycross Apple Farm, Wexford, came in third, with the second highest number of searches at 26,600. It also scored mid-range for affordability with an admission price of €30. 

Family admission prices can be as much as €58.50 in some counties, however a handful of patches offer family entry for under €20. Mollie’s Farm in Offaly is the cheapest patch in the dataset, with admission at just €10.50 for two adults and one child.
