14 community centres across Wexford have received significant Government funding…

In total, 369 community centres across Ireland received funding. It was part of the 26 million investment into the Community Centres Investment Fund. This fund provides funding for investments in Community Centres in order that these vital services remain useable, accessible.

Wexford Blackwater Parish Hall has received €80,512 To fund the development of a multi-functional room, fire safety exits, electrical, heating systems and a universal-access toilet.

Camross Hall receieved €45,829 to “the upgrade of a coffee dock to a kitchen area”

Castlebridge Community Hall received money towards the tune of €81,400 to “fund modernisation and renovation works.”

Ferns Community Hall received €55,000 “to fund renovations works, including refurbishment of kitchen, new meeting room and existing toilets, installation of an accessible toilet, smoke alarms and sensor lights, doors and insulation.”

Wexford’s Kilcannon Industries CLG, as part of Astro Active, received €100,000 in funding to invest in “items including internal painting, upgrade of flooring, replacing indoor windows, kitchen equipment and installation of solar panels.

Kilmore GAA Club in Wexford has received €53,000 to fund new insulation and to install energy efficient heaters in their Complex.

Wexford’s Kilmuckridge Community Memorial Hall Community received €37,386 in funds “to upgrade of the downstairs toilets, shower facilities, construction of a porch, lobby and to supply and install new stage curtain.”

Kilrane, in Rosslare Harbour, received 99,680 to fund “activity to improve energy efficiency” in their Community Hall.

The Oylegate Community Centre also received funds. They received €49,424 “to fund the fitting of a stainless steel kitchen unit.”

Wexford St. Mary’s Day Centre in Wexford were also successful. They received €45,982 “to fund the replacement of part of the roof and to insulate and install solar panels.”

St. Bridget’s Community Centre in Wexford received €37,683 to “fund a new lift, floor covering and internal painting.”

St. Michael’s Community Theatre were also big winners from the latest round of Government funding. They received €100,000 to fund “the removal of the asbestos roof”.

North Wexford’s Craanford Community Hall received funding for “the replacement of the flooring and the installation of solar panels to improve health, safety, and energy efficiency in the hall.” They received a gross amount of €44,827.

Kilanerin Community Centre was the final Wexford project to receive funding. €82,161 was allocated to “fund safety upgrades and build a communal kitchen.”
