A Status Yellow wind and rain warning has been issued for Wexford, with unsettled conditions expected to impact the county from late Tuesday night…
According to Irish weather forecaster Met Éireann, strong and gusty southeasterly winds will develop, coinciding with high tides. The combination may result in wave overtopping in coastal areas, along with the risk of fallen trees and loose debris. Motorists are also being warned of difficult travelling conditions.
The wind warning comes into effect at 23:00 on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and remains valid until 13:00 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
In addition, a Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Leinster and several other counties. Persistent rainfall falling on already saturated ground, together with high river levels, is expected to lead to localised flooding, poor visibility, and hazardous travelling conditions.
The rain warning is valid from 23:00 on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, through to 23:00 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Road users are advised to exercise caution, particularly in coastal and flood-prone areas, while the public is urged to stay updated as conditions develop.
