Wexford’s Opponents Confirmed For Semi-Final Of Boston’s Fenway Hurling Classic

The official draw for the 2018 Fenway Hurling Classic was held yesterday…

Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford hurling side were one of the four teams selected to travel to America to partake in the now annual, Boston Fenway Hurling Classic.

Reigning Fenway Hurling champions Clare, last year’s Munster finalists, Cork and reigning All-Ireland champions Limerick will also travel Stateside.

Presiding over yesterday’s Official Launch was Shane Cahill, Consul General of Ireland, Paul Flynn and Aidan Browne of the Gaelic Players Association.

Now, Wexford Weekly can confirm the semi-final pairings are as follows:

Clare vs Cork

Wexford vs Limerick

The four teams will compete for the Players Champions Cup in a Super 11’s format tournament with each semi-final lasting 40 minutes with the winners proceeding to the final on the same day, Sunday, November 18th.

The event will begin at 12.30 p.m. ET and it will feature a traditional Irish festival complete with food, music, and entertainment.

All three games will be broadcasted live on TG4 – and it’s sure to be an entertaining encounter.
