Cathal Dunbar was sent off in Naomh Eanna’s Wexford Senior Hurling semi-final clash versus Oylegate…
For what seemed like a minor incident, if any, Dunbar now looks likely to miss the club’s first ever county senior final.

Despite an outcry of support throughout Wexford, along with a #LetCathalPlay hashtag doing the rounds on social media, the Wexford County Board and the Leinster Council have both upheld the referee’s decision.
“The sending off was upheld by the Leinster Council on Thursday night, with the club exploring their options with the DRA ahead of Sunday’s final,” according to Pat Nolan of the IrishMirror.
Dunbar has starred throughout Gorey’s campaign, scoring a cracking 7-07 in this year’s championship, all of which came from play.
Naomh Eanna are now seeking a meeting with the DRA, the final stop of GAA disciplinary authority, in a last-ditch attempt to rescind the red card.
