Weekend Senior and Intermediate Hurling Results

Another massive weekend in the Wexford senior hurling championship, let’s take you through the scores.

In Group A of the Senior Hurling Championship things are gettin very close. St Martin’s recorded a 2-15 to 2-13 in over Rapparees on Saturday which means the Piercestown based club remain on top of the table. Ferns St Aidan’s had a good win over St Mogues Fethard in their meeting, the Ferns men winning by 0-18 to 2-09. In the final group game of the weekend St Anne’s and Faythe Harriers played out an exciting draw 1-15 to 0-18.

In Group B of the Senior Hurling Championship current holder Naomh Eanna had a good win over Oylegate-Glenbrien 2-16 to 2-14, county senior star Conor McDonald to the fore for the Gorey men. Rathnure and Glynn-Barntown played out an entertaining 1-14 to 0-17 draw, while Shelmaliers beat Oulart on Sunday evening 0-20 to 0-17. This now means Oulart will have to beat Naomh Eanna next weekend to remain in the championship.

Turning to the Intermediate grade and looking at Group A. Buffers Alley remain on top of the table after a good win over HWH-Bunclody on Saturday, they ran out 1-24 to 2-12 winners. Crossabeg-Ballymurn had a big win over Rathgarouge-Cushinstown 2-22 to 0-09. Taghmon-Camross had a good win over Monageer-Boolavogue also in the group.

In Group B of the Intermediate Championship Cloughbawn remain on top of the table after a 2-20 to 2-11 win over St James’. Adamstown had a big over Shamrocks 4-13 to 1-10, which was their first win of the championship. Askamore then had a narrow win over Blackwater 1-17 to 1-15

Still plenty at stake and next weekend we will know more as the senior and intermediate hurling championships continue.
