Wexford Intermediate Football Semi-Final Abondoned Mid-Game For Ridiculous Reason

While the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship might be the gift that keeps on giving, unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Wexford’s Intermediate Football Championship…

Today’s Intermediate football semi-final between Gorey town side Naomh Eanna and Crossabeg-Ballymurn was abondoned.

The football semi-final, which was being played in Bellefield, was abondoned due to a failure in the Enniscorthy club’s floodlights. There has been no confirmation yet in relation to what caused the lighting issue, however, it’s safe to assume it was a generator issue, inflicted by the horrid weather conditions.

Crossabeg-Ballymurn will be the most dissapointed out of the two teams however, as the game was abondoned when they were on top, with just over 20 minutes played.

Crossabeg-Ballymurn were nine points up at the time, on a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-03.
