A large fire has broken out in Ferns, Wexford…
A video, shared on Twitter by Ferns native and Farmers Journal writer Pat O’Toole, shows the extent of the fire near the Ferns GAA Club grounds.
As per Wexford People journalist, Padraig Byrne, “the fire service” are currently at the scene and they are “working hard to quench it, being assisted by farmers & locals in rolling away bales.”
The fire in Ferns is just one of a number of fires that have broken out across Wexford today.
Another fire broke out in the Crosstown area of Wexford, while another broke out on Mount Leinster.
Highs of 32 degrees were recorded across the county today. It’s just another reminder for us all to be extremely cautious as the Summer heatwave continues.
